Light and Shadow Honored at the 2026 reFocus Awards
We are proud to share that Christian Parrett's collection Light and Shadow has been named the winner of the People's Vote Award in the Fine Art category at the 2026 reFocus Awards Black & White Photo Contest.
Announced in New York on June 16, 2026, the reFocus Black & White Photo Contest drew entries from photographers across 104 countries. Winners were selected by a panel of judges drawn from The New York Times, Rizzoli, Condé Nast, The Robb Report, and The Financial Times, among others.
The People's Vote Award holds a special meaning: it is decided by public vote rather than by the jury alone. To have Light and Shadow recognized this way, chosen by the people who spent time with the work, is an honor we do not take lightly.
About Light and Shadow
Black and white photography strips an image to its essence. Without color to lean on, what remains is form, contrast, and the quiet drama between light and dark. Light and Shadow was built entirely within that tradition: a study of how the absence of color can deepen rather than diminish a subject, inviting the viewer to look longer and see further.
